THE FALL OF SILVER ISLAND
WAR 108, DAY 43, SILVER, The Oarbreaker Isles --- With the fall of the last Colonial resistance on Day 43, the Oarbreaker Isles are now totally under Warden control. At the start of the current conflict Colonial forces controlled half of the western oceanic region, including the strategic island of Silver. Colonial forces attempted to defend the strategic island from it’s relic base and supply smuggling operations, but due to the island’s isolation from the rest of the archipelago it easily fell to Warden assaults.
Nevertheless many observers have noted the miraculous holding of the island for 34 days, even in its isolated position. As such the men and women of Silver have become a symbol of honour within the Colonial military, echoing an ethos of; defend till the last man. Considering that the Wardens paid 20,000 in casualties to seize the island this holds quite a weight.
Now though, with the fall of Silver the Colonial’s western line has been pushed to Stema Landing, Farranac Coast, and the King’s Cage, where bloody battles have already begun. It’s only the beginning of the war though and whether or not more battles for Silver are to come is yet to be seen.
