THE FINAL STAND OF SCURVYSHIRE

WAR 118, DAY 147 to 149, Scurvyshire, ALLOD'S BIGHT --- After days of anxious waiting, it was happening: the invasion of Allods Bight. Somehow, I managed to sleep in and missed initial action. By the time he reached the front line, Warden forces had established a forward base near Scurvyshire. They were using Rocket Propelled Grenades on a local farmers barn. It had been converted into a garrison to defend a forward refinery and storage depot. Colonial guns were trained on the trenches taken over by "blueberries", as they were referred to by the troops. The artillery barrage obliterated them, leading to high causalities on their side.

Ammunition must have ran dry, as the shelling stopped for a few hours. During this time, Caovish infantry went back on the offensive and destroyed both the barn and the front line bunker base. It allowed them a good foothold within the city outskirts. Another set of guns, further back, opened fire on their previous base. The barrage began around 2100 hours and continued well until dawn. Likely having spent a sleepless night, a Warden squad infiltrated the defenses during the morning and destroyed two of the artillery pieces and destroyed them.

Eventually, the press corps reporter had to go back to PressCorps Headquarters to develop my films. As I was leaving town at the back of a logistic truck, I saw the defenders being pushed back towards the safe houses and town hall.
