Day 202-204: Operation: Ramifications

By Officer Cadet AB The Shark

Day 202-204, War 119

Callahan's Passage, The Procession

COMMUNITY SUBMISSION

On Day 202, the [KAZ] Kazakhstan regiment participated in a joint Warden action with other regiments including [CG]. Men and war materials were moved through the night to reach the front at The Procession. The [KAZ] regiment brought two King Gallant tanks, two flatbeds of 120mm shells, and two 120mm artillery pieces.

Arriving on the front, the guns were positioned with a 3rd pre-existing gun being crewed by [CG]. The tanks moved forward to provide ground support while Sdice prepared gun crews with other [KAZ] members. SeaofSerenity moved into position in his tank as our forward artillery spotter. Yohduh from [CG] operated one of our two tanks. He managed to push up to the relic in The Latch as it was bombarded with 120s. Yohduh and Seaofserenity heroically charged their tank through the Colonial frontline to secure a kill on a firetruck that was currently extinguishing the burning relic base. They continued to attempt to dehusk bases and create mass destruction. Yohduh expertly drove his tank for the operation.

Shell fire rained down on Colonial troops with accurate fire, breaking assault waves and damaging or destroying Colonial bunker bases. This continued into Day 203 when AB The Shark arrived to help support infantry in an O’Brien V.101 Freeman with the support of Queue to aid in the defense. They scored an assisted kill on a Colonial AT half-track and a Colonial push gun before the armored car was destroyed due to AB The Shark’s inability to remember which direction is forward or backward and reversing into the fight instead of aiming the nose of the vehicle at the Colonials.

The members of [KAZ] continued their artillery assault into Day 203, with only brief pauses when our observer was out of action or occupied. It was growing more apparent however, that more infantry were needed as Colonial troops repeatedly flanked the gun crews positions and assaulted them. Troops replaced the fallen on the guns, but when Day 204 arrived the position quickly faltered under gas, counter-battery artillery fire, and infantry attack by the Colonials. In the ensuing chaos, one 120mm gun survived to be fired a handful more times as the trenches were attempted to be cleared.

In the end, one tank was still in the fight as [CG] Yohduh saved it to fight another day. The members of [KAZ] recovered their flatbeds and some other equipment as they began their orderly retreat. The other tank was taken by a Warden while unlocked to rearm/supply, thus losing a critical piece of equipment in the chaos. While the guns were lost and the position was compromised the artillery fire heavily hampered the Colonial’s ability to put up continued assaults and stymied their conquest in the region. The regiment acquitted itself in a highly commendable action against enemy forces.
