Day 617: Legion Pushes Into Clahstra Once Again
By [PRESS] Diana Keys
Day 617, War 119
The Clahstra
Nothing gets your engine turning like being knee-deep in water surrounded by screaming people while getting shelled. The Legion has pushed into the Clahstra once again. For eight days, the Colonial legion has been pushing the Wardens out of The Baths once again. Today, fighting on the border into Watchful Nave is assisted by a Legion destroyer, and a Legion submarine.
The objectives of that day's operations were to push into Watchful Nave and Transept in order to cut off Warden logistics in Scurvyshire. The day started strong with the sinking of a Warden Bluefin off the coast of The Treasury. This is wholly thanks to the Legion sub already in the area at sunrise. However, due to Warden demolition work, the sub had found itself stuck in The Garth blocked from leaving The Clastra. Despite all Colonial efforts, the sub was killed by a Warden Light Frigate. This would not be the end of the naval fight that day.
The operations in the Transept River would proceed much smoother during the start of the day, despite fire from Warden tanks on the northern side of the river. Legion 120mm cannons aboard the Nacho ship killed the relic base in Transept River, only to make a shocking discovery. A Warden frigate was attempting to rebuild the bridge and engage in a duel. Why the destroyer didn't decide on better positioning is unknown, however, according to a direct quote from the captain of the Legion ship, "water is too shallow to cross."
The battle was rough. The Nacho ship had taken five minutes of tank and RPG fire from the northern bank of the river. Once the Warden ship was in range, there was no turning back. Fire came down on the middle of the ship. Seven minutes of blood, sweat, and tears, two ships of water thrown overboard, and the front sealed until the Warden frigate backed off. The crew drank well that night, as Scurvyshire fell under the might of our Legions.
Scurvyshire was retaken by the Wardens days later.
