THE LATCH, BESIEGED

DAY 29-30, THE LATCH, Callahan's Passage --- Reports of Colonial forces entering the Latch were received in the late afternoon of Day 29 by the local garrison, mere hours after Colonial advances from the south. The Warden garrison made rapid preparations as trucks of troops arrived full of fresh faces and equipment to reinforce. Due to the strategic importance as a key logistical depot for the region and it's proximity to the frontline, an attack was inevitable. The Colonial assault would open up with heavy mortar fire, followed by rapidly advancing Colonial armoured assets. Colonial troops would quickly seize the town, overrunning Warden defences and cutting the town in half. This wedge supported by Colonial infantry and engineer formations would cut the remainder defenders off from supply. The remainder of defenders would slowly withdraw with Colonial troops soon after seizing the Latch bunker. Although information is currently lacking Warden casualties are at an estimated 2,000+.
