A DAY IN THE TRAIN-FILLED WARDEN REAR AREA

DAY 421, CRUMBLING POST, Callahan's Passage --- This old reporter has recently gotten the opportunity to hitch a ride on one of these newfangled trains (re)developed in the 96th Conflict of the Foxhole Wars. Tracks criss-cross through Caoivish land as we travel north from the Crumbling Post at 0200 towards the town of Brodytown, Reaching Trail on what the Wardens call the 'C-4' line. We stopped near the town as the tracks were being repaired by a crew led by one Taquito-kun of the 'Snail' regiment.

I got out of the train and did some interviewing- one of the workers tells me that trains have taken up most of the heavy-duty transportation; for example, a flatbed truck can transport approximately 5000 basic materials while just one traincar can transport appoximately 6000, and trains can have multiple. I was then transported to Brodytown by ANT regiment members WO1 niceced and Lt. Claire. Two other Wardens are doing demolishing work on the old tracks with a Balfour Falconer 250mm mortar gun- kind of unorthodox, but I suppose it works. Logistics work in Caoiva certainly is a much more complicated affair than the scrap fields of yore.

Light has fallen by the time we reach Brodytown and I hop off with a more informed and amazed disposition. It is a quiet day in the Warden backline town, the silence broken only by the sounds of production and logistical work.
