THE MARBAN BLITZ
From holding less than 30 percent of the region, the Wardens took over all towns within three days.
WAR 97, DAY 170, MAIDENS VALE, Marban Hollow – In the early hours of Day 170 the hum of engines would fill the streets of Lockheed. Over the next few hours this would entail what for many was the unthinkable. For the Colonial flag which had flown over Central Marban for many months would fly no more.
These 'hums' would consist of three King Gallants and one Kingspire operated by Warden troops from the Highlanders Assault Division [HAD]. Led by Highlander Koelik they would progress to the recently captured township of Spitrocks, being greeted by elements of 82DK. Here the Highlander’s would establish a staging ground to support their assualt into Maiden’s Vale. As the sun rose to it’s highest the attack would begin. Already outer roads to the city had been secured by 82DK infantry while regiment Mox had began their own assault into the city from the East. As such the defenders of Maiden Vale found themselves trapped and would have to hold out against this large Caoivish force, consisting of names such as Frogz, 104th LVD and EZ.

Initial efforts of the Highlander’s armour would focus on eliminating outer Colonial pillbox positions to clear a way for infantry. With the clearing of these positions the Gallants commanded by Highlander officer KY2277 begin focusing their fire on Colonial bunker cores, while the Kingspire under the command of Koelik acts as a rear-guard to infantry assaults. These strives are successful, destroying 5 Colonial bunker cores within and around the regional capital. While this occurs infantry deployed by 82DK begin tightening the noose, securing the outskirts of the city, practically locking it in. Once secured all Warden elements begin an assault on the town hall, operating heavy firepower to route out any Colonial resistors. In the end although valiant in their defence the Legionnairs are crushed, many falling within the collapsing town hall.
Over this rubble, blood and discarded munitions a new flag is raised. Cheers go up from the weary men and women as the blue crested flag is hoisted above the city. Suffering practically no to limited casualties the Wardens have blitzed the region in a mere 9 hours. Limited resistance in the Western countryside of the region continues to persist but undeniably Marban Hollow is now resolutely in the Warden's hands.
